Everything on Skriptly runs on someone's server, so what's allowed is stricter than on most sites. This policy applies to scripts, versions, screenshots, descriptions and reviews.
Every version is reviewed
Each upload, including every update, is scanned automatically and checked by a person before anyone can download or load it. Approval means a moderator found nothing wrong. It's not a guarantee that a script is bug-free.
The listing shows when the latest version was scanned and approved and how many findings the scan raised. For free scripts it also shows the source and the lines the scan flagged. For paid scripts it shows only the counts.
Not allowed
Harmful code. Anything that does something the server owner wouldn't expect or agree to, including:
- backdoors, hidden commands, or code that gives the creator or anyone else operator rights, permissions or console access;
- sending server, player or world data anywhere without saying so clearly on the listing;
- running shell commands, downloading and running code, crypto mining, or deliberately slowing down or crashing servers;
- obfuscation or tricks that hide what a script does from the review.
Someone else's work. Leaked, cracked or copied scripts, scripts you don't have the rights to sell, and re-uploads of licensed scripts from Skriptly or anywhere else.
Misleading listings. Claims about features or compatibility that aren't true, fake reviews, or reviews of your own scripts.
Skins. A skin you link is shown as a picture only, so it has to follow the same rules as the rest of the site: nothing hateful, sexual or abusive, and nothing made to pass you off as someone else. We can remove a skin, and you can link a different one.
Illegal or abusive content, and content that breaks Mojang's Minecraft Usage Guidelines, anywhere in a script, listing, screenshot or review.
Reporting
Every script and review has a Report link. Moderators look at every report. Pick the closest reason and include anything that helps: line numbers, or a link to the original.
Copyright complaints
If your work has been published on Skriptly without permission, report the script and choose "Copied from someone else's work", or email support@the-best.uk with:
- the script on Skriptly and the work it copies;
- evidence that the work is yours (a link to where you published it first, history, or similar);
- your contact details, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you own the rights or act for the owner.
We'll take the script down while we look into it, tell its creator, and let them respond. Notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act go to the same address and need the same details, plus your signature.
If your script was taken down and you believe that was a mistake, email support@the-best.uk with the script, why you have the right to publish it, and your contact details. We'll pass that to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within 14 days that they've started legal action, we may put the script back.
What happens
Depending on what we find, we may remove a version, take down a script, revoke licenses for a harmful script, or suspend the creator's account. Buyers of a script taken down for breaking this policy may be refunded under the refund policy. Creators who repeatedly break the rules, or publish harmful code even once, lose their account.
