Refund policy

When you can get your money back, and what happens when updates break a script.

Scripts are digital, so refunds work a little differently from physical goods. This page explains when you can get your money back, and what happens when a Skript, addon or Minecraft update breaks a script.

Your legal rights

  • Cancelling. When you buy, you ask for the license to be created straight away and agree that, once it is, you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel. You tick a box saying so at checkout, and your Discord receipt confirms it.
  • Faulty scripts. A script must match its description, be of satisfactory quality and do what it says. If it doesn't, you're entitled to have it fixed or replaced, and if that can't be done in a reasonable time, a refund. Nothing on this page reduces those rights.

When we'll refund

  • It doesn't work on the Minecraft, Skript and addon versions its listing showed when you bought it, and the creator can't fix it within 14 days of being told.
  • It's substantially different from its description.
  • It's removed for breaking the content policy, for example because it was harmful or wasn't the creator's to sell, within 30 days of your purchase.
  • You were charged but never got a working license, or were charged twice.

When a Skript, addon or Minecraft update breaks it

Skript and its addons change quickly, and an update can break a script that worked when you bought it. This is the most common problem, so here's how we handle it:

  • What you bought is the compatibility listed at the time. If your server moves to a Minecraft, Skript or addon version the listing didn't include, the script not working on it isn't a fault.
  • Creators are asked to keep scripts working. Updates pass review and then reach your server on its next restart (or /skriptly reload). If one breaks a script, use Broke after an update? on the script's page. You choose the script version, your Skript and Minecraft versions and any addons, and say what stopped working. The creator is Discord-DMed, can answer that they're looking into it or that it's fixed, and you're DMed when they do. The date you send the report is the date the 30 days below are counted from. A report isn't a refund request.
  • You can stay on a version that works. The loader can pin a specific version (load licensed skript "…" version "1.2.0" with key "…"), and listings show which versions each release supports.
  • If the creator abandons it. If a script bought in the last 90 days stops working because of an update and the creator hasn't fixed it within 30 days of a report (marked fixed, or a newer version that works), we may offer a partial refund. This is a goodwill offer on top of your legal rights. We can see which paid scripts have reports that have waited that long, and we'll contact you if you're affected, but you can also email us as described below.

Bundles

A bundle is bought once but is a license for each script in it, so a refund works script by script. If one script in a bundle qualifies for a refund (it doesn't work as described, or isn't fixed in time after an update broke it), you get back what you paid for that script, which is its share of the bundle price, and only its license is revoked. The other licenses in the bundle aren't affected. Where a whole bundle qualifies, each of its scripts is refunded the same way. The bundle discount is shared across its scripts in proportion to their prices, so a refund never gives back more than you paid.

When we won't

  • You changed your mind after the license was created.
  • Your license was revoked for breaking the terms, for example sharing the script.
  • The problem is on your server's side (another plugin, a setting, an unsupported version) and the script works as described.

How to ask

Email support@the-best.uk from your account's address with the script's name and what's wrong. We'll check with the creator and reply within 14 days. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 days depending on your bank.

When a purchase is refunded, its license is revoked and servers using it stop at their next check-in. A refund is paid back by the creator and us in the same shares the sale was split.

Chargebacks

If you open a dispute with your bank or card issuer, the license is suspended while it's open. If it's settled in our favour, the license comes back; if the bank refunds you, it's revoked. Please contact us first; it's usually quicker.
